An ACH Routing Number (also called ABA Routing Number) is a 9-digit code used to identify a specific bank or financial institution in the United States when processing ACH transfers — like payroll, direct deposits, bill payments, or domestic electronic transfers.
It tells the ACH network which bank should send or receive the money.
Example:
If you send money to a U.S. bank account via ACH, you need:
Bank name
Routing number (identifies the bank)
Account number (identifies the specific account)
Used for:
Domestic transfers within the U.S.
ACH or wire payments between U.S. banks
